In this body of work, I explore themes of cultural identity, memory, and transformation through material experimentation and concept engagement. As a Venda man who grew up in a rural environment predominantly influenced by Tsonga people. I use maize (corn) as a central symbol, representing the migration of my ancestors from Venda into Tsonga community. Through this symbol, I reflect on intersections of culture, belonging, and heritage, while also acknowledging the way identity is shaped through movement, adaptation, and coexistence.
