ARTIST BIO


Rosa holds a Bachelor of Visual Art Degree from Unisa 2016. She works in

a variety of media, including painting, found objects, fibre/paper, and

installation art. Her work is concerned with the narratives of the human

condition and nature and how parts contribute to the whole. To reflect this

in her art, she brings disparate materials together such as found

objects/plant material, resin, charcoal, paint, latex, pastels, rust,

embroidery and ink that create her personal language.

She has had work accepted for the Sasol New Signatures in 2009, 2011

and 2024 finalists exhibitions at Pretoria Art Museum.

Rosa is living in George and in Jhb (part time) and is part of the CAP

(Contemporary Art Practice) group from 2015 - part of the group

exhibitions in Plettenburg Bay 2017), KKNK 2018, Absa JHB April 2018,

Knysna Art Ass. June 2018, Knysna ‘CAP Wrap” Dec 2018-Jan 2019.

Also, part of the permanent exhibition at the Karoo Art Hotel, Barrydale

2017-2019 and Art@39, Grootbrak 2018-2020. At Needlingshof,

Stellenbosch Woordfees 2019 and group exhibition, Glen Garlou Gallery,

Klapmuts Dec 2020-Jan 2021.

In Feb 2021 Rosa was part of the Inauguration Group Exhibition at edg

Gallery/Prof Elfriede Dreyer, in Midrand, and a finalist of a group

exhibition at Tollman Bouchard Finlayson June – Aug 2021.

Her duo exhibition was in May 2022 at art Bellville Cape town, and also

part of the Shaman workshop/exhibition at Glen Garlou Gallery, Klapmuts

June-Aug 2022.

Rosa was part of a small group SA exhibition at Bages, France in July-Aug

2023 and at the George Museum October 2023 part of ‘Object’ group

exhibition till end of January 2024.

In January 2024 Rosa has joined Tags, Southern Cape textile Group and

was on exhibition ‘Unsettled’ at GFI Art Gallery, Port Elizabeth Sept-Oct,

was also on exhibition ‘Object’ at UNISA as part of the CAP group and

Alumni student till end of Sept 2024.

She has been accepted in October 2024 as part of Fibreworks and was on

exhibition at the Gorgeous George Hotel in Cape Town till Feb 2025.

March 2025 ‘Into the wild’ workshop/exhibition at the Attic Atelier,

George.


As a result of an ‘open call’ from Lakritz Art Gallery, East London from

June - December 2025, she is part of a group exhibition ‘Contemporary

Art in the Spotlight’.

Recently on exhibition at the George Museum ‘Visual Expressions’

Landscape and Abstract.
