Biography Nkomene Hlongwane is a visual multimedia artist from Vaalbank Mpumalanga. Known for his creativity and range of artistic practices such as drawing, needlework, and collage. Hlongwane holds a degree in Visual Multimedia Arts from UNISA and appeared in several group exhibitions. The artist’s work is inspired by personal journey and social construct. In addition Hlongwane’s work communicate with the powerful combination of needlework with detailed graphite, charcoal, and pen drawings, which can be described as the artist's unique style. This combination is sometimes paired with collage and painting, and more importantly, this combination is closely linked to the artist's heritage and identity. Hlongwane is currently practicing as a professional artist.
