Born in Zimbabwe in 1991, Dee is a Johannesburg-based artist and tattooer who specialises in realism. She holds a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts from Rhodes University, and has a diverse portfolio. She uses a wide variety of mediums, but specially favours pastels and pencils. Having left home at eighteen and spent a majority of her life on her own, Dee’s work often revolves around themes of identity and personal experience. She credits the old romanticists and realism painters for her high interest in colour theory and realistic style, as well as her passion for story-telling. As an introvert she finds a clear voice through her art to best relate to the people around her.
