Bontle Juku is a South African multi-disciplinary artist based in South Africa. Her work
that employs painting, photography and experimentation is guided by her exploration of
the past and present representations of black existence, including her own experiences
thereof. Juku's work explores narratives, sociopolitical discourse and themes of
spirituality, existence and nature that surround the black body; aiming to create heartfelt
visual expressions that serve as diverse narratives of blackness that move away from
harmful stereotypes of the past.
