Amohelang Mohajane is a multidisciplinary artist, curator, and researcher whose practice explores themes of memory, spirituality, and materiality. Rooted in conceptual and installation art, her work often integrates found objects and unconventional materials, transforming them into visual narratives that interrogate history, culture, and identity.
Her artistic approach is deeply influenced by her background in digital curation and archival research, allowing her to merge traditional and contemporary storytelling methods. Through an experimental lens, she engages with themes of displacement, ancestral connections, and the metaphysical, crafting immersive installations that challenge perceptions of time and space.
Amohelang’s work has been showcased in various exhibitions, and she is a recipient of the ACIP Award 2021 in collaboration with Emory University. As a former Curator and Collections Manager at the North-West University Art Gallery, her curatorial vision centered on reinterpreting permanent collections to create socially resonant narratives.
