The Window

I resonate with the words ‘fortitude and resiliency, empowerment over adversity and metamorphosis’

Yes, I have had my personal experiences of feminine fury. And there are times when it rises, but the difference is that now, when appropriate, it is righteous. It is not turned inward to cripple and subjugate as I have experienced in the past.

When words failed, when anger failed, when change felt impossible, depression, rage, fear, and the weight of the world turned inward and numbed me, then locked me in a very small room. However, that small room had a very high window, and that very small window streamed light. One day birds flew by and drew me out, they scolded me, reminding me that I have a freedom that others don’t; I have my mark, my art and my craft. Then my words were returned to me.
