This series explores limerence—an involuntary state of obsessive longing that exists between desire and impossibility. Drawing from my own experience, the works reflect a nine-year connection sustained through fragments: social media glimpses, brief encounters, and ambiguous signals that blur the line between reality and projection.

Paired spoons, each bearing an eye inspired by Victorian “Lover’s Eye” jewellery, symbolise both intimacy and distance. Representing myself and the person I perceive as my soulmate, they suggest a bond that feels unbreakable yet remains unresolved and unfulfilled.

Teacups serve as vessels of memory and fantasy, holding two fleeting days spent together abroad—moments where time seemed suspended and longing briefly felt realised. These objects embody the tension between lived experience and imagined futures, where desire persists despite its improbability.

The series ultimately reflects on the fragile boundary between devotion and illusion, questioning how one reconciles a connection that feels profoundly real, yet may never fully exist beyond the realm of daydream.
