“Innerscape”  explores the emotional experience of social anxiety, a quiet, internal world where self-doubt and reflection intertwine. The figures in my work bear incisions that symbolize how I feel after social interaction.. marked, raw, and exposed. These scars are not signs of weakness but traces of inner transformation.

The work draws inspiration from the life cycle of a butterfly, particularly the chrysalis stage, a moment of stillness, struggle, and unseen change. For me, social anxiety feels like being trapped inside a cocoon, constantly second-guessing, replaying conversations, and living inside my own thoughts. Yet, within that confinement, growth is taking place.

The butterflies In the work serve as quiet reminders that people with social anxiety are not broken but becoming. Just like the butterfly emerging from its cocoon, this process of becoming is delicate, painful, and necessary for transformation.
