TECHNI-FLOWER explores my fascination with the intersection of nature and technology, reimagining a flower beyond the boundaries of the natural world. Inspired by the ethics of genetic modification, this piece questions our desire to alter and enhance nature.
It reconstructs nature through modification, transforming what is into what could be. A fusion of structured elements with organic forms highlights the delicate tension between human intervention and nature’s original design. I blend organic forms with synthetic aesthetics, featuring flower petals in unnatural hues and manipulating the form of a natural flower. I incorporate digital methods, using structured elements and geometric lines to further emphasize this contrast between technological intervention and nature’s original form.
Through this work, I reflect on the ethics of modifying nature through technology. What is gained when we alter? What is lost? And in the end, are we creating something better—or simply something different?
