Imperfect Perfection

Artist Statement:

Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) can contain hormones or hormone-like substances. While more research is needed to understand the long-term effects of GMO consumption in humans fully, some studies suggest a potential link between GMO consumption and an increased risk of certain health issues, including cancer, allergies, and other illnesses. As a breast cancer survivor who has undergone a double mastectomy, I understand the devastating impact that hormone-induced cancer can have on one's physical appearance and overall well-being. My scars serve as a reminder of the importance of making informed choices about the food we consume, and the potential risks associated with genetic modification.
