For this exhibition, Thomas Masingi's photographs investigate how the internalisation of society's perceptions of us can bring out the monsters in all of us. We then become violent and then the people around suffer from our actions and reactions. The artist chose to use photography as he believes it captures the emotions of the figure in the perfectly. The work touches on ideas of around suffocation, entrapment and the unleashing of the rage that society has caused by constantly attempting to shackle the female figure.
