Nellien Brewer - Artist Statement

Nature has always been a place where I am able to escape from the demands of

modern city living. Growing up on an isolated farm without electricity in the KZN

Midlands, I loved nothing better than to explore the cliffs and streams surrounding our

home.

We now live in the city, and it is not always possible to visit wilderness areas. Our

garden, however, provides a sanctuary in which to rest, recover and breathe…
