Artist statement.
Exploring the word “Landscape”, it can be “all the visible features of an area of land,
often considered in terms of their aesthetic appeal” as well as “the expanse of scenery
that can be seen at a glance”.
Artists are influenced by their surroundings and nature. I wish to explore the invisible
and imaginary world beneath the earth’s surface.
Artists can act as custodians of nature and the ancient heritage it represents. Elements
of this heritage are hidden in the landscape, visible or unseen. We also notice the
destruction of these precious resources or elements by man. We have an obligation to
protect it.
I titled my work “Die Onsigbare” translated as “The invisible”. The invisible roots,
boulders and the deep core of the earth beneath the visible landscape are depicted as
imagined line and texture.
Line is a substantial aspect/part what the eye records of nature. What you see realized
in my artwork, my signature as artist, is of my fleeting subjective imagination through the
