The presence of proteas brings this right home, as I live on a mountain in the Western Cape of South Africa. In amongst the fynbos. There is a lot of this species, called Protea Laurifolia, around. Amongst others, there is also a lot of Protea Nitida, that I make Ink from. I have a blog, called Fynbos and Art, that stems from an eco-sustainable concept I have. Here, at home, we always joke about my perfume range, because mainly I either smell like fynbos, artist turps or fire.
This work fits in with my series called; “In Touch With Feel,” which deals with a lot of introspection and reflection.
Reflecting on global matters, I stand astounded at how much of what's happening globally is reflecting in my personal life. Mostly what stands out, at the moment, is the oppression of some people. How they have to take a stand, out of sheer survival. Then how this gets spun and manipulated with false narratives and propaganda orchestrated perceptions, by perpetrators, as the victims being the bad ones.
Along with this, how rare the capacity is for people to trust their insight and how easily they fall for just any next new lie the manipulators spin to cover up on the previous lies they were caught out on.
There is a general inability to see deeper. Stuck there on the superficial stuff.
The frame in this instance plays a role, where I bring in the concept of kintsugi, also something that I regularly delve into. With so many broken parts and repairs, I love how the kintsugi hack, just rise above it all. Here is the false gold and the healing black sheep or the blamed to be dark, that matters. Society is out of balance and if the authority, power and control, becomes the heartless criminals, then a healthy society and world is out of the question. Murder and mayhem will reign. And then they wonder why things look the way it looks.
So, which is the dark and which is the light? In this day and age, amidst world chaos, how do you truly define whether something or someone is dark or not? There is so much information out there. So many many narratives, so many lies and so much manipulation.
Inevitably, it's really each singular choice that we make, that's either situated in dark or light. We all have a bit of both, but it's the frequency and the depth of the darkness that matters. In this case, if you are so dark to oppress the lives of a family or of families, daily, heartlessly, affecting years worth of moments of sadness, pain, anguish and suffering and still convince everyone around that they are the bad guys, for trying to stand up for themselves. Trying to have a life. Trying to have a bit of their lives in the sunshine, with happiness. Then I think we can fairly determine that you are heartless and dark. Imagine what it would be like for you, if you and your children had your whole life stolen, your happiness, comfort and peace.
Everyone has blind sides, which are merely the things that we still have to learn. We are defined by the continuum of the choices we make. Thus, if you are habitually making dark choices, because you are stuck in a loop of patterns of anger, spite, manipulation, falseness, lies, deceit, self centred greed, envy, power and egoistical control for instance, then you become situated in darkness and delusion. You need to get out of ego and to the self. You need to become the master of your own mind and emotions, instead of trying to be the master of others minds and lives.
Along with this, if you readily hand your life and mind over to a manipulator, because of the power, or whatever reason, then you are as guilty of the oppression. You're a flying monkey.
It shows manipulation, when you are told that a person is dark, because there is a lot of darkness around them. That's the false gold, that's making you believe that the blurry, ever changing, usable reflection is the reality.
It's important to use your own mind, own eyes and trust yourself. Think and see. Firefighters, police, doctors and nurses, psychologists and anyone prepared to tackle a dark situation for the better, deal with darkness. Darkness is everywhere, as is light. It's the duality of just nothing or just is. Of a transcendent reality.
On another level it is the duality of ignorance and awareness. All over the world, the super manipulators are blurring the lines of dark and light, turning them into the grey blurry areas that can be shapeshifted to suit their agendas. Convincing anyone with care or awareness to become blind, ignorant and unaware. To sit numb and watch the innocent being killed, animals hurt, families and nature being destroyed.
The manipulators are social engineers, sculpting narratives out of thin air or a half truth, confusing you perception, till you are not sure, which is the reflection and which is reality. What is dark and what is light. Each direction unfolds its own promise of either chaos and pain or change to a better place. You can only support one direction. It's your society, your reality. Think, put ego aside, choose wisely. Stand up against allowing criminals ruling the world. Don't be blinded by the glitter, that seems to be gold. See the imbalance. See the suffering, pain, destruction and chaos. Seeing it does not make you dark, as they would like to convince you with their manipulative mastery.
The ones that are prepared to see it, take a stand against it and tackle the hard task of taking on criminal power are also not dark. Like they would also convince you. They do the same as the firefighters, doctors and other lightworkers. It's just a different field.
It's your society, your world and reality, it is your responsibility. Don't sell your soul, your community or your world for a moment of comfort, or to fear and insecurity. If you dig deeper, you will see their agendas. Take a stand and change pain and suffering into a sunny happy reality. Stand for that, Stand for a reality that would have less poverty, less desperation, breed less hurt people, hate and crime. It will reflect on you in a positive manner. It's the long term, good choice as opposed to the short term, instant gratification.
They will also convince you to bury the lessons of society. The hard prices people paid for all to learn from, because it makes them look bad and they want to stay in control and serve their agendas. They will convince you to be silent about the crimes, because it serves them. Don't be confused by their manipulations. Let the very defined black lines of Kintsugi remind you of the healing that happened, because you saw and responded. Use these lessons, teach the children, how better worlds and realities were made.
