Scapes: Traces of Escape
Scapes is an exploration of escape, not as running away, but as a quiet journey toward freedom, transformation, and self-discovery. Through black and white prints, a painting, and a charcoal drawing, the works trace the paths we walk, the weight we carry, and the marks left by endurance. Some feet are protected, others exposed; some bear the scars of hardship, while others reach toward what is yet to come.
Escape becomes a rhythm of becoming, a shedding of limitation, and a reconciliation with vulnerability, a return to presence. Each medium contributes its own texture: the starkness of prints, the depth of charcoal, the richness of paint, all reflecting fragility and resilience. Each mark, shadow, and contour invites the viewer to feel the journey beneath their own feet and witness the quiet courage in moving forward.
Scapes is about the spaces between holding on and letting go, the tension between stillness and motion, and the human unfolding that happens when we walk toward ourselves.
