Freedom, Laughter, and Mischief in Tessa de Wet’s SEE THEM FLY I

SEE THEM FLY I transport viewers back to the carefree days of childhood when paper airplanes were vessels of imagination and adventure. The colorful array of planes evokes a sense of innocence and playfulness, reminiscent of simpler times before the dominance of technology. As the airplanes dance in the air, they serve as a poignant reminder of the joy found in tactile creations and face-to-face interactions. This installation encourages us to embrace the whimsy of our youth and rediscover the magic of human connection beyond the confines of screens and gadgets. Through this artwork the artist invites us to reclaim moments of wonder and spontaneity, fostering a deeper appreciation for the analog experiences that shape our lives.
