Judy Woodborne 2024 Solipsistic Bubble
The titles of her three miniature works reference the concept of Solipsism, defined as follows:
Solipsism (/ˈsɒlɪpsɪzəm/ SOLL-ip-siz-əm; from Latin solus 'alone', and ipse 'self') is the philosophical idea that only one's mind is certain to exist. As an epistemological stance, solipsism posits that knowledge of anything beyond one's own mind is uncertain; the external world and other minds may not exist outside the mind.
These three solipsistic bubbles represent different states of mind or being, encapsulating a beautiful mind navigating a world of ever-changing contrasts, darkness, and challenging times.
