his adult life in the Eastern Cape. He has exhibited in various galleries
around the country. The Absa Gallery in Pretoria, Dorp Street in Stellenbosch

Wehrner has been sculptor for the better part of three
decades forever returning to nature as his biggest inspiration. His earlier
works focused almost exclusively on wood and specifically South African
Hardwood species. Over the years he also explored working with steel, stainless
steel and found objects. The last few years saw him work with more abstract
forms, brightly painted steel panels and tubular shapes, immersing himself
fully into the colourful world of his present expressions as an artist.
