In 2018 she was selected to take part in an exhibition entitled Back to the Future featuring
Contemporary South African Glass Artists and hosted by The Association of Arts
in Pretoria. Her work was also shown at
the same venue in 2016 in an exhibition entitled Out of the Fire, and into the Light.
Her first solo exhibition A
Beautiful Mind was held in 2015 at Art Lovers 1932. Telkom sponsored her in
2015 to create an artwork for the ITWeb Brainstorm calendar. In 2014 Nicole was
selected as one of the Top 10 winners of ABSA L'Atelier. She was selected in
Sasol New Signatures Art Competition in 2007.
Nicole would describe herself as an eclectic artist. Her approach
to creating work is unusual. Using glass as her primary resource - be it
textured, digitally printed, spray painted or sandblasted - she then sets out
to combine it with various mediums. Participating in workshops at the Ngwenya
Glass Factory only served to reinforce her love for the medium. She was excited by the possibilities that the digital domain could
offer, and she started actively pursuing and experimenting with printing on glass,
vinyl, aluminium, transparency, and paper.
What excites her as an artist is the freedom it provides, allowing her
to actively explore and implement concepts from any field without restrictions.
