Kgafela Loate

Born and raised in North west, Kgabalatsane. Kgafela is a visual art graduate from UNISA who started his creative journey as a self taught artist from the age of 10.

As a young artist, he worked primarily in graphite, then moved on to try charcoal, acrylic, and watercolours. He now majors in stylized art, and scribble drawings. 

In his attempt to find a way to fill the void and avoid becoming another casualty to his environment where some individuals have lost hope. Kgafela dedicated his passion to creating to also manage aspects of mental health, and through his practice he explores the themes of interior monologue and mental dissonance.

 

 Brief Bio

Raised in Kgabalatsane North West, and being one of few who found a unique form of escapism to keep from becoming a casualty to the environment. I have dedicated my passion to creating art, as a way of managing aspects of mental health. Through my work, I explore themes of interior monologue, and mental dissonance.
