Jander le Roux,(2000) I am among the first to be born into the new millennium.
Into a world taken over by technology.
Despite this, or maybe even because of, I have chosen a profession as old as the ages. The art of blacksmithing. I was born in a small town in the heartland of South Africa, I grew up on a farm in the middle of nowhere. I apprenticed to Anton Smit for four years, another practice one might call old fashioned. Never the less it proved to be an immensely valuable experience. I currently lease a studio space at the Anton Smit sculpture park, where I do all of my work.
